Child Bereavement UK
Helping families rebuild after loss.
At Perry & Phillips, we are proud to support the life-changing work of Child Bereavement UK, a national charity that helps children, parents, and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.
Grief at any age is difficult, but for a child, it can be overwhelming and deeply isolating. That’s why Child Bereavement UK exists: to ensure no child faces loss without the right care, understanding, and support.
Our Connection
Fourth-generation Funeral Director John Adams, is honoured to serve as the Funeral Industry Advisor to Child Bereavement UK. This role builds on a shared mission: to raise awareness, improve support, and make space for conversations around death, dying, and bereavement—especially for children and young people.
Through talks, campaigns, podcast interviews, and national collaborations, John has worked to shine a light on this often-overlooked area of grief.
Raising Awareness, Raising Funds
To date, John and the team have helped raise over £58,000 in support of Child Bereavement UK, working hand in hand with our partners, colleagues, and community.
This funding has supported vital services, including counselling sessions, bereavement training for schools, and national outreach programmes that empower both children and adults to talk about grief with honesty and compassion.
Why This Matters
The support of Child Bereavement UK complements our own commitment to bereavement care in Shropshire. Whether it’s by guiding a grieving family through funeral arrangements or signposting further support, we believe it is our duty to care not only for those who have died, but for those who must go on living.

“I’ve seen first-hand how grief affects children and their families. Supporting Child Bereavement UK is deeply personal to me, because I believe that no child should feel alone in their grief. Every conversation we have, every pound we raise, helps build a kinder, more understanding society.”
— John Adams, Funeral Industry Advisor to Child Bereavement UK
