Papercranes
A gentle space for children to remember, express, and create.
Grief can be especially hard for children to understand and express. That’s why we’ve created Papercranes: a safe, supportive hour for young people under the age of 16 to come together, talk about their feelings, and create something meaningful in memory of someone they love.
📍 Darcy’s Coffee Shop, Bridgnorth High Street
🕔 4:30pm – 5:30pm
📅When:
- Tuesday 24th March 2026
- Wednesday 24th June 2026
- Thursday 24th September 2026
(Please note: children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
Why Papercranes?
The paper crane is a symbol of hope, healing, and peace and it felt right for a project centred around helping children gently explore their emotions through creativity and conversation.
Papercranes isn’t a counselling session, but it is a carefully held space where children can feel safe, heard, and understood, all at their own pace.
What Happens During a Session?
- Children will take part in a creative activity such as making or decorating paper cranes, writing messages, or designing memory tokens
- We encourage gentle conversation, sharing of stories, and open expression, but there’s no pressure to talk
- Light refreshments will be available, and families are welcome to stay throughout
Each child will be supported by compassionate team members who understand the challenges of childhood bereavement.
A Place Where Grief Feels Less Lonely
Papercranes was created to give children something many adults wish they had: a moment to reflect, to create, and to know they’re not alone.
Whether your child has recently experienced loss or is continuing to process the absence of a loved one, we hope Papercranes offers a meaningful moment of connection and care.
